What is SEO? SEO or Search Engine optimization is a very specialized process by which one can increase his websites rankings in the search engines. There are two known methods of SEO in simple sense namely Black Hat seo and white hat seo.Lets discuss these in brief-
Black Hat SE0- The methods and techniques used to get the website ranking high on the search engines are not recognized by the search engines.They do get fast results in short period of time. Some of the techniques used are like invisible words(Whiteout) some where in the websites pages, excessive keywords,generating false page ranks etc. The above techniques are short lived and very soon they will be tracked by the search engines and get banned. This is not at all recommended cause, why let ones hard work go to waste and spent time on something which will eventually wont survive.
WHITE HAT - The white hat techniques are right and accepted world wide by the search engines.These do require lot of hard work and are time consuming. Methods generally involved are doing lot of research for the right keywords,, meta tags, submitting the site to lot of directories,social book markings,RSS feeds, bloggings, article writings and many more. It might take months if not years to get your site in the first page of the search engines. Need a lot of consistency,persistency and patience.People who are serious and have a long term plan will definitely make it.Every second spent is worth it and hardwork will be there to stay and sooner or later your site will be on the top of some of the biggest Search sites.
WHY? why is SEO important? Optimising your site is important because that's how search engine bots reads your website. Every website requires proper keywords,metatags and more importantly is its content. All three is important and has to be interlinked so that when someone is searching for information with certain words the search engines pulls up those sites. It is believed that if ones site doesn't show up with the keywords in first 3 pages of the search engines, Your SITE DOESN'T EXIST. Example is when was the last time you went beyond the third page to look for information, if your answer is no then what do you think others will do?
HOW? There are different methods and techniques which has evolved in the last few years. One is by building backlinks.A backlink is a link by which your site is connected to other sites. Quality as well as quantity backlinks does matter. The search engine bots looks into how many backlinks your site has and accordingly givs importance to your site. These backlinks can be generated by submitting your site to good and reputed directories. Social bookmarking, bloggings,article writings, generating RSS feed etc.
In this modern world with the advance of technology even generating backlinks techniques have become advanced. More and more softwares are developed to cut short this tedious time process. From manually generating link now the process have become automated.
